How to draw a car caricature

Over the last year, I have switched to creating my caricatures digitally using a tablet and stylus to achieve almost identical results. Although the way I create of creation has changed, the method is still very similar to the information below... instead of picking up different pens, I just switch brush settings! So, in effect my caricatures are still hand drawn and rendered, before being edited to produce the various colour options. I try to put as much detail as I can into the drawings and pride myself on the high quality of the end result.

I've created two videos to show how to draw and render a car caricature which I hope you find useful and informative.

After I have the finished car caricature, there's still more work to do... The artwork has to be scanned and if I want to create a range of colours, it will require another hour or so of work in Photoshop to produce the various colour options.

All in all, it can take anywhere from 4-7 hours work to get from blank page to finished car caricature with a range of colours available on the website.
